Also in celebration of the Sun I have a new range of products to share with you, I have always had a bit of a difficult relationship with producing products as I often feel world doesn’t need any more. For a long time I have been trying to find a way to have my images printed onto clothes but did not really want to be part of the fast fashion problem that is so damaging to the world.

Pigeons…

I spent a while looking at them a year or so ago, particularly ww1 carrier pigeons … this is where my busy backgrounds started to emerge, the idea of them flying home despite the fact that they were being shot at from all angles…saving so many lives.

I have since cared for a number of pigeons rescued from a collapsing building I find them totally fascinating and lovely to be around with such strong personalities !

A Solstice occurs when one of the Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun, the winter solstice itself lasts only a moment but, has been seen a significant time of year in many cultures, and has been marked by festivals and rituals since pre-historic times.

“The Summer Solstice is a time to reflect on your personal growth and the meaning of the season of light and growth. This is the moment of our year when there is the most light available to us. In terms of consciousness, it is when we are the most present to ourselves and who we know ourselves to be — the Sun represents the light of all life and consciousness. Seeds are planted in the Earth as well as the seeds of our souls. It’s a time of renewal and abundance, a time of love and expansion, as the summer sun unfolds the leaves on the trees, so do our souls open to receive the light of source to illuminate that which is within each of us.”
Maybe it’s a time to think about taking only what we need, and doing what we can to live in balance and harmony with the cycles of the earth.

The word “Solstice” is derived from the Latin words meaning “Sun”  “standing still.”  The Summer Solstice is the longest day and the shortest night of the year. Following this Solstice, the days get shorter, the nights longer

It marks our arrival at midsummer – the heart of the season. Up until this point, the sun has been waxing and nature’s energy has been building: reaching the pinnacle of this crescendo is a cause for great celebration, but it’s also tempered with the knowledge that the cycle must continue and the dark half of the year is calling once again. At the summer solstice, the Oak King surrenders his crown to the Holly King, the sun starts to wane, and night slowly begins to overshadow day.
