West cornwall wildlife volunteers #repost Look at all these beauties.. Our native protected conservation listed Gulls! As you know we have helped many, many. Gulls this year: not only Herring Gulls, but Great Black Backed and Black headed gulls also! This season we have helped over 60 orphaned, sick and injured Gulls back to the wild… successfully after having the correct diet, enrichment, veterinary treatments, critical care nursing and enrichments for learning… which is an amazing achievement. Our released Gulls are rung with an ID tag so we can track their ability to be rehabilitated successfully to thrive and hopefully breed. We still have a number of late arrivals… 1st year Gulls not coping in the wild with various injuries and ailments or having gotten into trouble.. and also the ones the shocking ones that have suffered intentional attacks in the wildlife crimes we have witnessed and reported on. Every few days we still get a call about a poorly or injured Gull. So we still need your help..just as all the people responded and helped the wildlife during the nesting season when everywhere closed their doors and we built avaries ..and seems it doesn’t just stop in winter. If you can donate pet food we have a constant need for it as well as the funds to help us to treat and medicate the wildlife in need. If you can offer a space for a food collection box that would also be fantastic!
