Can’t stop looking at these …
This book has inspired me many times … Time for another look…
More happy accidents :)
Yaay…also have a little spo on the Cornwall Crafts Association Website….
Very excited to be leaving this and a few others with @cornwall_crafts at the @national_trust_trelissick gallery to be included shortly in their latest exhibition
Some time ago I made this monotype as part of a set of crow fable illustrations … The Swallow and the Crow had an argument one day about their plumage. Said the Swallow: “Just look at my bright and downy feathers. Your black stiff quills are not worth having. Why don’t you dress better? Show a little pride!” “Your feathers may do very well in spring,” replied the Crow, “but—I don’t remember ever having seen you around in winter, and that’s when I enjoy myself most.”
I need more Crow and Raven stories and characters to hold in the back of my mind while developing some more of these, any suggestions?. . . . . #linocut #printmaking #monotype #monoprint #lino #raven #cornwallart #artexhibition #artforsale #myth #folklore #folktale #fairytale #ravenart #illustration #contemporaryprintmaking #humananimalrelationship #ukprintmakers #get_imprinted #contemporaryprintmaking #printmakingtoday #creativeinspiration #darkart
Definitely want to create some more of these (made completely by accident) …. They seem to suggest narrative, myth, folk tale fable … I know quite a few crow and raven stories, which are your favourites?
I think maybe this one should be called king of Phrygia as there are only so many I can refer to as Midas … Jackdaw and a golden ball #linocut with #monoprint
Still enjoying playing with ideas around these monoprint/linocuts I like that this one may also speak of a need for balance or a fragile and precarious state ….. . . . ………..#linocut #printmaking #monotype #monoprint #lino #raven #cornwallart #artexhibition #artforsale #cornwallwildlife #wildlifeart #birdart #birdartist #art #illustration #contemporaryprintmaking #humananimalrelationship #ukprintmakers #get_imprinted #contemporaryprintmaking #printmakingtoday
My little rook on top of the world will be off to a new home from the lovely @gurnardshead … :)
I saw this and felt inspired so I ordered mine straight away…cant wait to see it #Repost @alisonbickdesigns (@get_repost) ・・・ Are you a designer/maker trying to build a business out of doing something that you love? Then I highly recommend that you get the Dream Plan Do 2019 journal from @thedesigntrust It will help you track your business over the course of a year, with monthly themes and juicy goals to achieve. It’s bumper packed full of useful business advice completely tailored to the creative industries. Sometimes it’s hard to get going, to feel motivated or keep in track, or it just feels too scary to just do it? right? So I’m going to be part of the new monthly Dream Plan Do Accountability groups in the Uk, here in Cornwall, where local Dream Plan Do’ers will get together each month and help, support and encourage each other through the themes. If you have bought a 2019 Dream Plan Do and live in Cornwall and fancy being part of my group then get in touch.. In the meantime you can currently pre-order Dream Plan Do on The Design Trust’s website, and there is a lot more info on there about what you can expect in the 2019 planner.
More crows delivered to @gurnardshead ❤
